what does the act protect a whistleblower from?

PIDA protects the whistle-blower from adverse treatment as a consequence of his informing his employer that they are, or may be, in breach of their legal obligations.

Adverse treatment is a deliberately wide phrase in the Act but can be demotion, dismissal and a host of other things. It’s for the Tribunal to determine if the conduct complained of falls within the definition of adverse treatment.

Serious question…..Alex Jones, is he really a whistleblower, or is he "one of them"?… I don’t know?

Wearechange have done more to bring discredit to themselves and damage public perception of what they believe by their own tactics, than their opponents could ever have dreamed of – all with his aiding and abetting. Draw your own conclusions.

Did you see last night’s ‘Whistleblower’ programme about Sainsburys and Tesco?

I was somewhat shocked by what this programme revealed, and I certainly won’t be shopping in either Sainsburys or Tesco anytime soon!

Alarmingly, it seemed that none of the culprits were sacked, merely ‘retrained’… But that’s futile; they knew they were putting customers at risk, it wasn’t a lack of training that was the issue, it was a lack of concern!

Any thoughts on the subject? Will you be avoiding these supermarkets?

yes i did see it ….absolutely awfull , but are the other supermarkets any better…? if the mentors dont follow the guide lines how are the trainees expected to ….

What makes a person a conspiracy theorist?

Is anyone that questions the official stories of the media or government a conspiracy theorist? How about those who research and take the time to form an opinion that differs from that of the main stream story?

They believe that the govt has secret programs that serve their own agenda and that they do not properly represent the will of the people.
They also believe that their own govt would lie to them to serve their own desires.

Does whistleblower policy apply to any instance of bringing government misappropriation of funds to light?

Where I work, we were told that if we see someone misusing medicare funds it is the law that the person who turns them in, or is the "whistle blower", gets a percentage of the funds that were being misused. Would this law hold true in a situation like the ACORN scandals? Not that Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe were in it for the money, but they sure saved the government a lot of cash.
