What is the closest thing to mind control?

Or is mind control an impossible concept because humans are so complex?
I googled it and my own question was the first thing to come up.

Certainly, hypnosis can work. Drugs can make people very open to suggestion, but so far as I can tell, and unwilling person cannot be mind controlled.
Controlling the mind would be so hard, and it is much easier just to control peoples bodies, so while they can think, they can’t move. Kind of like when you are paralized.
