What’s up with all the people who say they "believe" that NASA faked the lunar landings? If it were just a few misguided individuals, that would make sense, because there’s always a few out there that can’t figure out how impossible it would be to accomplish such a coverup and choose to ignore rational explanations of what they consider to be evidence of a hoax, but it seems like there’s thousands or millions of them!
The only explanation is that the government is secretly trying to make it look like the average American is an idiot, so our enemies make the mistake of underestimating us. It’s a conspiracy, I tell you!
nrao_kid, you don’t recognize irony when you hear it. I’m making sport of the "fake moon landing" theorists by porposing that they themselves are a conspiracy. I never thought I’d have to explain it. You’ve inadvertently added credence to the theory, though.
I’ve found a lot of people who question anything the government does and thinks that everything the government does is a lie. As a result of their mistrust they are willing to believe what someone else says without question. I’ve found that to many of these people that if you question their beliefs its a personal attack and they attack back, but if you believe what the government says you can’t think for youself. Its an interesting situation considering many of these people don’t question the Conspiracy, just the event.

The government doesn’t need to do anything to make the average American look like an idiot. Our church-controlled educational system is doing the job for them.

A lot of people believe that because there have been a lot of discrepancies over time. Research the conspiracy online, and you’ll see all the examples. I forget them all. Plus, there have been a lot of people who died "mysteriously" that were involved in the first moon landing, suggesting a coverup. And, just the sheer fact that the space race was such a big deal and we were trying so hard to beat Russia to the moon, some people think that our gov’t wanted it so bad that they staged it.
Wow, why all the thumbs down? I didn’t realize I said anything bad. I was just explaining why some people thought it was a hoax. Good grief!

There’s no need for a government conspiracy on this one. The education system (which is NOT controlled by the church, but by the liberals/socialists) is so busy doing everything BUT teaching our children, is doing a perfectly fine job of destroying their brains and making them a bunch of idiots.
Read the average history textbook your children bring home from school, and compare it to what you had in school. You’ll see that the liberal do-gooders, lawyers, and unrepentant hippies from the 60s have rewritten the texts with enough nonsense to fill an encyclopedia. It’s enough to make you puke . . .
Add to that the latest peer-pressure thing of "being smart isn’t cool", and you can see how we’re setting our kids up to be mental midgets.
